RWS centerfire rifle cartridges in calibre 8x57 JRS

RWS centerfire rifle cartridges in calibre 8x57 JRS

The 8x57 JRS is a first-class cartridge for combination guns, in particular for double-barrelled rifles. When used in double rifles, it obtains a very rapid shot sequence, because the barrel is not seriously misaligned with the first shot.

Since there already was an 8x57 IR, the next logical step was to also create a cartridge with rim for break-open rifles in addition to the 8x57 IS with the stronger 8 mm bullets. Well, the 8x57 IRS is the rimmed version of the rimless 8x57 IS. It was introduced in 1905 as well.
