RWS centerfire rifle cartridges in calibre 5,6x57

This cartridge was developed by RWS in 1964 as roe deer, chamois and fox hunting cartridge for extreme distances of up to 250 m. Due to a RZR (GEE) of 192 m, the 5.6x57 can also be used for very long distances. Its wind-sensitivity is distinctly lower than with other 5.6 mm calibres with lower bullet weights. With the heavier 4.8 g cone-point bullet, the necessary precision for hunting is being achieved. The RWS cone-point bullet guarantees very high effectiveness with good preservation of the game's meat.

The ingenious coordination between the Tombak jacket and core material provides flexible adaptation to the target resistance. Whether small or large game, the projectile mushrooms in a controlled manner and transfers energy uniformly into the game whilst still retaining an effectively enlarged residual body for exit. The external shape of the projectile provides ideal prerequisites for high precision and low air resistance.
