25 m rapid-fire pistol

Weapon: permitted are self-loading pistols with a maximum weight of 1400 g, which correspond to the safety regulations; the weapon must have the correct dimensions, so that it can be put into a test box with the internal clear space dimensions of 300 mm x 150 mm x 50 mm, trigger pull 1000 g.

Ammunition: Calibre 5.6 mm (.22 l.r.) with a bullet weight of at least 2.53 g = 39 grains and a muzzle velocity of at least 250 m/s

Targets: five targets standing next to each other with a distance of 75 cm between the target axes, the height of the target centre – measured from the ground on which the shooter stands – is 140 cm +/- 10 cm, the target is black and divided into 6 evaluation zones, the diameter of the 10 = 100 mm, of rings 5 to 9 = 40 mm each, the target is turned automatically and is visible for the shooter in the respective series.

Distance: 25 m

Aiming Position: standing, freehanded position (ready position*)

Programme: 60 shots, which are to be challenged in two semi-programmes with 30 shots each; the semi-programme is divided in six series with five shots each, of these two each within 8, 6 and 4 seconds

Ready position: Ready position for the competitions Olympic rapid-fire pistol, sport pistol duel / centrefire duel and standard pistol (20 and 10 seconds).
The shooter lowers their arm at minimum 45 degrees out of the horizontal line.
In this position, the shooter waits for the target/targets to be turned towards them or for the signal to fire, without bending or moving their arm. At the moment, when the target starts to turn, the shooter may move the pistol.
